New lanterns, electric-to-gas conversions, and help choosing the right light — installed right the first time.
Nothing changes the front of a house like a real flame. Gas Products Unlimited has installed gas lanterns across Greater Houston for more than 25 years — on new construction, on remodels, and on homes replacing tired electric coach lights with the real thing. We're Houston's authorized dealer for Coppersmith, Legendary Lighting, and St. James, so choosing the lantern and installing it is one conversation, not three contractors.
Every gas light installation is quoted for the specific job — some lanterns arrive ready to hang, others require real assembly, and no two homes have the same gas access. But every quote includes the things that matter:
This is one of our most common requests: the house has an electric coach light or lamp post, and the owner wants a real flame. We do these conversions regularly — and gas-to-electric when someone wants to go the other way.
For an electric-to-gas conversion to work well, two things matter:
If your fixture can't be converted, we'll quote a new gas lantern instead — often for less than homeowners expect, since the gas line work is the same either way.
Lead time is usually about a week from quote approval, depending on the season. Winter runs longer — fireplace season keeps our schedule full from October through January — so if you want lanterns burning for the holidays, get on the schedule in early fall.
The installation itself is typically done in a single visit.
Gas lighting isn't a side service for us the way it is for most plumbers and electricians. It's one of the things we do best — we install them, repair them, and keep them running on an annual service list. That matters at installation time, because the details that cause problems years later (line sizing, sulfidation-prone runs, wind exposure, orifice selection) are the details we get right on day one.
Builders and outdoor living contractors: we handle lantern packages on new construction across Katy, Fulshear, and the Memorial villages — one sub for the lights, from selection to first lighting.
We install gas lanterns across Greater Houston, including Memorial, River Oaks, Tanglewood, Bellaire, West Houston, Katy, Cinco Ranch, Fulshear, Sugar Land, Cypress, Richmond, and Missouri City — and we regularly travel beyond the metro, from College Station to Galveston and Beaumont to San Antonio.
